When I worked in the corporate world, being an introvert, I would be reluctant to engage in ad hoc unplanned discussions on particular topics in the board room.
Over time, I learnt to be successful in getting my point across and influencing an outcome in my favour.
I would ask for extra time and then collect any relevant data in writing in order to argue my points, or I would ensure that the agenda of any meetings was clear upfront, so that I would be prepared in advance.
